Here are the decent sketches of the second idea. Done in the same sort of format as the last post. I am not as convinced by this design than the last one but it does have its strong points. Once I have thought about how it is going to work a bit better, I am sure that there will be some changes that will have to be made to it before I can make any firm decisions.
